alchemyIT have developed methodologies which addresses the project needs in a software engineering and implementation environment. With Internet-based solutions becoming more complex as the technologies evolve and as the users' requirements become more demanding, it has become necessary to view Internet related solutions in a more formalised project environment.

The fundamental premise of our approach is that the customer be involved at all times and buy-in is critical at all stages of the project. After all, it is the customer's project which is being executed, not the suppliers.

This will overcome the experience where the end user is sometimes reticent to take over the final system at time of handover as he has not been involved during the process and is thus feeling uneasy about the responsibility of ownership. This could be as a result of the customer's initial expectations not having been met, or as a result of inappropriate technologies having been deployed to arrive at the solution.

Depending upon the scope of the project, the methodology employed may follow either the classical "waterfall" approach or may follow a more interactive approach as demanded by object oriented technologies on the market. Often a hybrid approach is adopted.
